Even though snow is covering some of our garden, Spring will be here before we know it! Keep an eye on our website and think about warmer days! We will need to get together in March/April to clean up after the Winter storms and plan our new season of gardening.

All Aboard! Storytime at Congers Train Station

Join Mrs. B for a six-week Winter session at the Congers Train Station. We will begin our weekly program on Tuesday January 24 at 10:00am and our last session will be Tuesday February 28. Remember to bring your floor mat and a grown-up! Come to as many sessions as are convenient for you. No registration is necessary. This storytime is appropriate for preschoolers 3 and up. Hope to see you there! (Please check the library website during inclement weather, in case we get stuck in the snow and can't meet!)

All Aboard! Storytime Returns to Congers Train Station

Mrs. B will be back at the Congers Train Station for All Aboard! Storytime once per week at 10:00 am starting Tuesday January 24 through Tuesday February 28 for a six-week winter session. Please bring a carpet square or cushion for sitting on the floor. Adults must stay nearby in case they are needed. (Chairs are available for adults.) This program is appropriate for preschoolers ages 3+ and no registration is necessary - come to one or all! Please check the library website for updates in case of inclement weather. See you there!

Believe it or not, winter is here. But with 50 degree temperatures currently reading on the thermometer, it's hard to imagine that cold and snowy days are just around the corner. Until they arrive, you can get a frosty glimpse of the past on the internet. At www.snowflakebentley.com you can learn about the fascinating man, Wilson A. Bentley. Also known as "Snowflake" Bentley, he was a self educated farmer, who developed a technique of attaching a camera to a microscope. In 1885, he became the first person to photograph a single snowflake. Learn more about "Snowflake" and view his actual images on this truly unique website.

Children in grades 2nd- 6th are welcomed to join Mike Bader, founding member of LUGNY (Lego Users Group of New York). Come build a take home project and collaborate on a masterpiece that will be displayed in the library. Space is limited. Registration begins Monday Dec. 19th.

The library provides research tools that are literally at your finger tips. These research databases can be accessed at the library or from the comfort of your own home. Just start from the library's home page and choose the Research tab. Then select Databases. A new page will open and from there, select the Students tab. Once you determine which database that you would like to view, you may be asked to enter your library card number. These databases are current and reliable resources that include full-text reference and magazine articles. In addition, many provide color photographs, audio, video, and citation. Attached is a brief description of each database to help get you started:
