five days to write a blueprint of Gone With the Wind.
This from George: A Soldier's Soul
Wednesday, November 5, 7:30 p.m.
Author Eileen Patch presents a character portrayal and
interpretation of her great uncle, Sgt. George M. Englis.
Englis served in the 89th NYS Regiment, 1861-1865. He wrote 57
letters about his war experiences. Patch researched the
letters, compiling them into a book. She will read passages as
though she were the recipient. Program co-sponsored by the
Civil War Roundtable.

Postcards were immensely popular with soldiers and reached their
height of popularity during WWII, when the government issued them to
all soldiers. Paul Martin, an avid military postcard
collector, will share and explain various examples from his
collection.
The Words of War

War is portrayed in many ways by writers and photographers.
Each offer their interpretation, factual or contrived. Author
and publisher Donagh Bracken compares press articles from the North
and the South and shows the disparity in reporting during the Civil
War.
