Better Than Google

If you come into the library anytime after school, or on week-ends, you will see tables crowded with tutors and their tutees.  Good money is spent on hiring tutors who help students with their academic subjects, SAT preparation and improving writing and reading skills. I feel this is a needless expense when there is a great database like Learning Express Library waiting for you.
Learning Express Library has been around for years, and it is a shame more people don't use it before engaging expensive tutors. What does it do?  It only offers online access to the most comprehensive selection of academic and career-related resources available. It features skillbuilding tools for reading, writing, math, and science. There is test preparation for high school equivalency and college admissions exams. The workplace resources include tools for job searching, exploring new careers, and preparing for occupational licensing exams and much more. Another valuable resource is the Popular Software Skills Tutorials which will help youn brush up or acquire new skills in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Targeted learning centers provide patrons of all ages with easy, one-stop access to relevant interactive tutorials, practice tests, and eBooks.  Whether you are applying to graduate school, strengthing your writing prowess, or need help with elementary, middle or high school  reading, writing and math, you will find that help right here.
The individual centers offer practice tests, tutorials and e-books.  For example, if you want to brush up on your algebra skills, you will be presented with a diagnostic pre-test, lessons with an interactive experience, and a post-test to identify where more attention and practice is needed.
Job hunters will enjoy the career center, where you can explore a career, and prepare for an entrance or occupation exam. You can learn to improve interview skills, create an outstanding resume and tips to feel more confident with the job search.  Career changers will appreciate the e-book Career Changer's Manual as well as ideas for great careers.
There is so much substance to this database, that it is almost impossible to describe it all. Suffice it to say that among those who will benefit from it include students of all ages, people seeking new jobs or careers, and people who need to improve their computer skills.  Isn't that about everyone? Whether you are working toward your GED or the GRE, help is here.  There is also a center for Spanish speakers.
I urge you to try this for yourself and your children.  Is it better than Google (or a tutor)? Absolutely.
