There is a big mystery happening at the library on Sunday, November 13, 2 PM so tell your friends. What is it?  Mystery Writers of America are hosting "Meet the Authors" that include Joanne Dobson, Steve Hamilton and Julia Pomeroy. These well known mystery authors will discuss the making of a series character. So often today, we identify a specific author by their favorite sleuth or detective. Household names that readers can quickly identify include Harry Bosch, Miss Marple or Kinsey Milhone.

This fine panel will be moderated by Michele Slung, consulting editor for Mysterious Press. The most baffling crimes, the darkest secrets, and the scare-raising bad guys count for a lot less than the personailities of those characters you meet and follow --- through book after book. As attached as the reader may be to the leading character, the creation of these stories requires hard work and imagination on the part of the author. So a question might be, how does a writer fashion a characer who survives through an entire series? What is it like, for the author, to live with a series character over time?

These questions and others will be answered in this very special afternoon. There will be a reception following where you will meet the speakers. Join us.
