This annual event sponsored by the Genealogy Society of Rockland County will feature a program in the morning, a lunch break and then four mini-workshops. Greta Nettleton will begin by sharing her family research, with which she wrote a historical memoir. (Through her genealogical detective work she discovered that her great-grandmother became a millionaire selling her patent medicines.) Over lunch, we will talk about problems people are running into with their own research. At 1:00 PM. the mini-workshops, which include cemetery records, vital records, census, and library/government records, will begin. At the end of each 15-minute session, participants can move to a new topic.

This is the third year for this film/discussion series with the Rockland Chapter of this national organization. The movie, David and Lisa, features Keir Dullea and Janet Margolin in a gripping portrayal of two teenagers finding love and trust while dealing with their mental and emotional disorders in a psychiatric hospital. Filmed in black and white, David and Lisa received Oscar nominations for both its direction and screenplay. The discussion will be led by psychologist and long-time supporter of NAMI, Dr. David Drassner.
