Museum Passes
Rules:
- The New City Library will loan passes to Clarkstown residents with a valid adult library card.
- The loan period is for 2 nights.
- Advanced reservations are not accepted, however, you may call in the morning to hold a pass for that day. It will be held that day until 30 minutes before closing.
- The overdue fines are $10 per day.
- You may only reserve one pass a day and one per family.
- Please stop by the Circulation Desk or call 634-4997 x124 to inquire.
Passes available to Clarkstown residents
- The American Museum of Natural History (2 adults and 4 children) - The museum presents large scale, interactive exhibits, programs, shows and IMAX movies aimed at increasing general knowledge about human cultures, the natural world and the universe. Located in Manhattan at 79th Street and Central Park West (across from the New York Historical Society and Central Park), the museum offers so much to see and do that it is sometimes hard to take it all in. - Hudson Highlands (2 adults and 1 child) - Located where the river cuts through the Appalachian plateau, in Cornwall-on-the-Hudson. It is in an area of dramatic natural beauty, geographical diversity and historical interest. The museum operates two facilities, one at the Boulevard and one at Kenridge Farm. - Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (5 adults and any accompanying children under 18)- A renowned art museum and a cultural icon of the 20th century, the Guggenheim offers special exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, lectures by artists, film screenings, classes and daily tours. - Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum (2 adults and 4 children under 18)- The aircraft carrier Intrepid is a national historic landmark and a New York City landmark. Exhibits range from thrilling historical re-creations to new interactive displays. http://www.intrepidmuseum.org/
- Museum of the City of New York (2 adults and 4 children)- Located at the upper end of Museum Row, directly across from the Central Park Conservatory, this gem of a museum opened its doors in 1932. A collection of 1.5 million objects and images allows visitors to explore the past, present and future of NYC. Pass includes 10% discount at gift shop; does not cover parking. www.mcny.org
